Rain Day
As we started ripping up the annuals and bulbs in front of The Residence, the sky was getting darker and the air was getting colder. About two thirds of the way through planting, the rain started to come down. We picked up and headed back to shop, dumped the old flowers in the compost pile, picked up a snack from the student store, and then headed to break. The rain keeps everybody close to shop. Bob, Shane, and Patrick were cleaning and or doing maintenance to the mowers and tractors, Scott seemed to be sharpening the mowers blades, and Thomas and I were sorting all the bulbs we've dug up in the past weeks. Five big, black buckets full. We'd put about twenty in each small bucket and Wendy during lunch offered them to the ladies in the dining hall. There were many different bulbs, but tulips and hyacinth mainly. These rain days seem to be in the way, but they truly allow a lot of needed maintenance and cleaning to get done.
